Upper Lake Como: a heritage of flavours, nature, history and traditions

During 2026, the municipalities of Dongo, Cremia, Garzeno, Gera Lario, Gravedona ed Uniti, Musso, Pianello del Lario, Stazzona and Vercana present a rich calendar of events in the shared programme ‘Upper Lake Como: a heritage of flavours, nature, stories and traditions’.

This is a narrative and comprehensive journey that highlights the lifestyle of Lombardy and its deep connection with the territory through the rediscovery of local traditions and excellence in food, wine, culture and landscape. The events invite residents and visitors to discover tangible and intangible heritage that deserves to be known, experienced and passed on.

  • March: 
    - Saturday, 28 March: Historic centre (Dongo) - Hidden Treasures - Guided walking tour of the centre of Dongo with a visit to the Franciscan Convent, Palazzo Manzi and the Museum of the End of the War - Local aperitif at the end;
  • April:
    - Sunday, 5 and Monday, 6 April: Palazzo Gallio (Gravedona ed Uniti) - 49th Camellia Exhibition - Display of single camellia flowers from Lake Como and flower arrangements and exhibition of artworks and photographs - Concert by the Philharmonic Band of Gravedona; 
    - Saturday, 25 April: Historic centre (Dongo) - Hidden Treasures - Guided walking tour of the centre of Dongo with a visit to the Franciscan Convent, Palazzo Manzi and the Museum of the End of the War - Local aperitif at the end;
  • May: 
    - Friday, 8 May: Lakeside promenade (Cremia) - Festival of Risotto with Perch Fillets - An evening dedicated to the flavours of Lake Como, including the famous risotto with perch fillets, and local folklore;
    - Friday, 29 and Saturday, 30 May: Districts (Stazzona) - I Révolt da Stazuna - Food and wine tour through the wine cellars in the historic centre accompanied by musical entertainment and historical re-enactments; 
    - Sunday, 31 May: Historic centre (Dongo) - Hidden Treasures - Guided walking tour of the centre of Dongo with a visit to the Franciscan Convent, Palazzo Manzi and the Museum of the End of the War - Local aperitif at the end;
  • June:
    - Saturday, 6 June: Caino district (Vercana) - Art, wine and violin - Exhibition of paintings by local artists, dinner based on typical local products and music;
    - Sunday, 7 June: From the Shrine of Quang to the Giovo Refuge (Garzeno) - The Smuggler's Run - Non-competitive 9 km walk/run to the Giovo Refuge - At the end of the run, lunch based on typical local dishes at the refuge;
    - Saturday, 13 June: Historic centre (Dongo) - Hidden Treasures - Guided walking tour of the centre of Dongo with a visit to the Franciscan Convent, Palazzo Manzi and the Museum of the End of the War - Local aperitif at the end;
    - Saturday, 20 June: Roundabout at the lake (Musso) - Music by the lake - Evening with live music and dinner featuring typical local products;
    - Saturday, 27 June: Historic centre (Dongo) - Hidden Treasures - Guided walking tour of the centre of Dongo with a visit to the Franciscan Convent, Palazzo Manzi and the Museum of the End of the War - Local aperitif at the end;
  • July:

    - Saturday, 18 July: Roundabout at the lake (Musso) - Music by the lake - Evening with live music and dinner featuring typical local products;
    - Saturday, 25 July: Historic centre (Dongo) - Hidden Treasures - Guided walking tour of the centre of Dongo with a visit to the Franciscan Convent, Palazzo Manzi and the Museum of the End of the War - Local aperitif at the end;

    - Friday, 18 and Saturday, 19 September: Harbour (Gera Lario) - Gera una volta - Book and literature fair, featuring meetings with authors, creative workshops and animated readings dedicated to students;
    - Saturday, 26 September: Historic centre (Dongo) - Hidden Treasures - Guided walking tour of the centre of Dongo with a visit to the Franciscan Convent, Palazzo Manzi and the Museum of the End of the War - Local aperitif at the end;
    - Sunday, 27 September: From the lakefront to San Bernardo (Musso) - Vertical del Sasso di Musso - Non-competitive 4 km run/walk with an elevation gain of 940 m from the pier in Musso to the Church of St. Bernardo - At the end of the race, traditional lunch and live music;
    - Tuesday, 29 September: Vignola district (Cremia) - Feast of St. Michael the Archangel - Patron saint's day celebrated with liturgical ceremony and a communal lunch featuring local dishes;
  • October:
    - Saturday, 10 October: Historic centre (Dongo) - Hidden Treasures - Guided walking tour of the centre of Dongo with a visit to the Franciscan Convent, Palazzo Manzi and the Museum of the End of the War - Local aperitif at the end;
    - Sunday, 11 October: Sant'Anna district (Pianello del Lario) - Roots - Guided tour of the Sant'Anna district, followed by a food and wine re-enactment of the ‘Pork-based dinner’ and musical entertainment;
    - Saturday, 31 October: Historic centre (Dongo) - Hidden Treasures - Guided walking tour of the centre of Dongo with a visit to the Franciscan Convent, Palazzo Manzi and the Museum of the End of the War - Local aperitif at the end;
