Church of San Lorenzo

Churches Gravedona ed Uniti

Probably built in the first half of the sixteenth century, the Church of St Lorenzo rises in Segna, a small hamlet overlooking the lake and Gravedona ed Uniti. The frescoes on the apse were mentioned by Bishop Ninguarda during his pastoral visit of 1593. The images of the “Coronation of the Virgin Mary with the Saints Lorenzo, Antonio, Vincenzo, and Nicola da Tolentino” and the “Madonna and Child between Saints Rocco and Sebastian” were most likely commissioned during a plague epidemic.
Recent restoration works brought to light a representation of the “Madonna del Latte.”
